Don't expect much from this last day. The far North coast is something of an anticlimax after the previous day. Easy riding, yes, but not much en route save a nuclear power station at Dounreay and boy racers trying to finish the North Coast 500 in a single day.
Thurso is uninspiring and John O'Groats itself difficult to pick out on the coast line. The finish itself is a short down hill followed by a frantic search for the marker post for a photo.
No visitor's book. No official photographer. Just a queue and several gift shops selling inaccurately labelled merchandise (try finding a good, safe, walkign or cycling route that's 872 miles long).
Still, you've made it. Cornwall is a long, long way away (as is home, probably). And the memories will last forever.
