As with the route from Monmouth to Craven Arms, the day from Craven Arms to Northwich is flat and pleasant but hardly stimulating.
The countryside is green and rolling. Huge houses alternate between millionaire's party pads and dereliction.
The only major settlement, Shrewsbury, is remarkable only for being the second sighting of the River Severn, after the Severn Estuary.
A day that might best be described as 'transitional'.
